Doctors Tea Party Endorses Lee Hieb, MD for Iowa Governor

Dr. Lee Hieb is a fourth generation native Iowan. Her great-grandfather homesteaded in Iowa in 1871 near Logan. She began her career in medicine at age four, accompanying her father on house calls along the back roads of Harrison County. She was educated at Grinnell College and the University of Iowa, and then graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester New York. In 1987, she completed an Orthopedic Residency in the United States Navy. After serving as a general Orthopedic Surgeon stationed with the Marine Corps, she returned to Rochester where she was the only woman to be appointed as the Louis A. Goldstein fellow of Spinal Surgery. Dr. Hieb has been in private practice for over 25 years, and has recently completed a fellowship in Anti-Aging Medicine. When not doing surgery, Dr. Hieb lives a small town Iowa lifestyle, gardening, canning, raising chickens, and spending time with her two sons--Nathan, a medical Student and Mason, an engineering student.
